The
Challenge of the 21st Century Project strives to prevent war and
to fight poverty and social inequality. It is rooted in Africa,
the birthplace of humanity, where the 20th Century has witnessed
more wars, infant mortality, refugees, cultural, ethnic and
religious victims and conflicts of every sort among brothers and
sisters of the same region. The dilemmas of the victims of
poverty, of Apartheid, of political conflicts- within natural
boundaries have more readily been addressed by violence than by
law, justice and tolerance. This Project is a bulwark against the
destruction of Mankinds cultural-humanistic values. It
nurtures mutual understanding amongst the worlds peoples,
cultures and languages, the elimination of social inequality and
the rebirth of Mankind through synergetic action by opinion-
makers, and through the blessing of wise men, Kings, Queens,
hereditary chiefs and religious leaders who must themselves
inspire the conscience of all the citizens of the World to
achieve reciprocity and understanding.
Under
the personal Direction of Chief Olofin II OLOFINDJI Akande,
supported by the United Nations system of agencies and all
Peace-loving Institutions and People, in collaboration with the
Kings, Queens, hereditary Chiefs and Religious leaders, a
Universal Cultural City, Igbale Aiye, or the Seat of Humanism,
will be built at the frontier between Benin and Nigeria to
cultivate the world-wide Fraternity of People, Permanent Durable
Human Development, and to assuage the nostalgia of all our
Brothers and Sisters, victims of slavery, with an annual
fraternal meeting at the Seat of Humanism every January 15th,
marking the birthday of that man of Peace, Martin Luther King,
Jr.

A
people never suffers forever. Africa, once a flourishing
Continent, then plunged into crisis. Gathering in the name of
Africa-Cultures International Institute, volunteer Humanists
gathered and decided to work for the Renaissance of Africa that
shall give birth to the Renaissance of Mankind: that is to say,
·
an Africa without boundaries, vibrant and prosperous
·
Just and lasting Universal Peace, and
·
the World-wide Fraternity of Man.
In
other words, Africa-Cultures represents all the solutions to the
problems of race, gender, caste, development, etc. that trouble
and tear the world apart: the Institute of Peace seeks the
Universal well-being of Humanity. The message is sent forth
continually: "Peace-Loving Peoples of the Earth! Let us
Revive our Cultures". Africa-Cultures programme is
vast, deliberately ambitious, and far-sighted: it includes 3
fundamental parts: the Moral, the Scientific and the Economic.
1.
The building of Academies to be run by Volunteer Teachers for the
benefit of volunteer Students.
2.
The creation of productive companies, continental and
even
international in scope, to employ graduates of Schools and
Universities, and thus fight against professional unemployment.
3.
The teaching of humanistic ethics as the moral basis for work at
Africa-Cultures and human life, in general;
-
The teaching of Peace through manifestations in honour of
Departed Eminent Humanist Personalities of Universal
significance;
-
The Africa-Cultures Prize to encourage our brothers and sisters
operating in various fields of human endeavor;
-
The Alex Haley Institute engaged in mass research to enable
Diaspora Africans to trace their roots and to alleviate concerns
about their origins;
-
The foundation of a Cultural City, to be known as The Seat of
Humanism, on neutral territory belonging to 2 peace loving
African nations to soothe the nostalgia of our Brothers and
Sisters, victims of slavery, and establish Universal brotherhood
without frontiers.
Africa-Cultures
program is indeed vast, but fortunately it reflects the just
aspirations for a true Renaissance. All peace-loving individuals
desiring prosperity will find their own values reflected because
this program concerns men and women of all ages and of all walks
of life: Farmers, Artisans, Artists, Students, Teachers,
Organizers, Researchers, Health workers, Traders, Entrepreneurs,
etc.. Each can find his daily activity therein and thus avoid
useless meetings and lack of action. Social and community
activity will be rehabilitated and individualism will be
condemned.
1.
Africa-Cultures fights steadily against poverty. It initiated
Micro-credits in Benin. It was Africa-Cultures that organized the
17i October 1995 March of the Kings of Benin to
Eradicate Poverty. This march today forms the basis of the
Beninese political class thinking on the issue of poverty.
2.
Creation of PANAFRICA under the Patronage of the Reverend
Archbishop Desmond TUTU. The World-wide Council of Panafrican
Organizations (PANAFRICA) is
a Panafrican network of Non-Government agencies. Its scope is to
promote development projects and the Renaissance of
the Panafrican Universe, to offer a viable framework for
collaborative action by Panafrican Organizations, to revitalize
the Panafrican identity and African culture so as to unite the
Panafrican world and promote exchange of information
and experiences among Panafrican Organizations.
3.
To encourage collective participation in the realization of
effective human development within Benin, Africa-Cultures created
the Council of the Kings of Benin that has held yearly meetings
for the past 6 years.
4.
In Benin, Africa-Cultures centers are opening at a local | level
to promote community development. Moreover, each village
creates its own Action Committee to foster local Development.
